Announcement: As close as this poor boy will get to having an MP5
Posted: JAYTEAM @ Wed Jul 28, 2010 7:34 pm
9mm SBR
7.5" chrome lined barrel w/ 1/2-28 threads and Phantom flash suppressor
Midwest Industries T7 rail
CMMG ramped bolt carrier
RRA 9mm buffer
Hahn top loading mag block
Metalform mags
It still needs some irons, and I plan on switching the light out for G2 LED (with a lumen upgrade kit) in a better mount. I had that light sitting around, so I slapped it on until I can get what I really want. I also want to get a single point sling for it. Probably one of the Magpul MS2's and ASAP sling mount.
The long term plan is to suppress it using an HK 3 lug adapter.
Jay

Curios if any body has used the My Dip Kit. Wanting to find out how durable this is. Didn't find anything with a search.

Announcement: Starting a 6.8 upper build
Posted: faawrenchbndr @ Thu Jul 15, 2010 10:41 am
With the advice of Sneedb82, I have decided to start a 6.8 SPC upper build.
Here's what I have to start with:
-PRI 16" 1/11, stainless mid-length, 6.8 barrel.
Ionbond Diamondblack coated, AMU II Chamber.
-Fitted hard chrome bolt
-Surefire MB68K muzzle brake
-Troy Industries low-pro gas block.
Will ude a standard forged upper receiver, not sure of the rail, but leaning toward a JP VTAC 12.5" or Troy Industries TRX 13"

Announcement: Otis vs. coated rod
Posted: fyrman273 @ Thu Jul 15, 2010 8:55 am
I was thinking about getting one of those Otis cleaning systems for my ARs. I had originally thought about getting a coated rod from Dewey but it seems that the Otis is more compact and easy to transport if needed. They didn't have these for us when I was still in the Corps. All we had was those buttstock cleaning kits. Both of my barrels are chrome-lined and just wanted something that would not damage them. Any suggestions?
