Aimpoint Micro question
The scenic route to a AP question ....
Wish I had the money to get a real AP Micro but I don't. Bought the Bushnell TRS-25 knock-off instead. It's going on a Beretta Storm which is primarily a fun plinker for me. Too bad Valentines Day (hate it .... HATE IT!) got in the way of some shooting but the rain conspired with Valentines crap to keep me from getting a chance to see how the Bushnell will work.
So far I am impressed. Seems well built, quite small, very light, good bright crisp red dot. The intensity dial is tight to turn but there are good solid clicks from one intensity to the next. Downside is that it is easy to loosen the battery cover with cycling the sight on and off. The dot seems very well centered but will have to get some lead downrange to see how well zeroed everything is or isn't.
What I have noticed is the way Bushnell mounted the electronics that produce the dot inside the tube obscures a small amount of the sight picture at the 4-5 o' clock position. I'd say it obscures no more than about 10% of the total picture but it is noticeable just the same.
So my question is does the Aimpoint have a similar "issue"? Considering the quality of an AP I am betting it is a perfect circle but since I've never looked through one I wondered if what the Bushnell does is similar in other micro type tube optics?
Here's a pic that shows what I am talking about. The pic makes it seem worse than it is. Must be the angle that I took the pic. I also noticed that I need to be a more careful when I handle the optic. That finger smudge isn't noticeable is it?

The emitter is not in the way on an Aimpoint and the "dot" is not a perfect dot.

I must be missing something ... I don't get the smiley.
the dot in the Aimpoint micro is not a "perfect" dot, that's the point of the laughing smiley.
