American Defense?
Im looking for a QD offset mount for my AR. I got to looking and the American Defense looked like it would fit the bill.

How is the QD capability? Does it return to zero?

How is the quality of these mounts? Ive looked at reviews and can't find any bad ones.

Thanks

From everything I have seen they are awesome mounts. They are cheaper which is a plus and I believe they are modular in that you can buy just the rings to change from 30mm to 1" instead of a whole mount.

cool, any word on repeatability when removed?

I'd say almost or as good as the LaRue... very repeatable.... They are mil-spec in terms of rail fit, so long as you get it in the right MOA mark on the top rail, you should be GTG.

american defense is better than larue because you dont have the arrogance that goes with it.

I actually read recently that ADM mounts ARE in fact better then larue in terms of long term use and rail fit due to how they mount to the rail...I think Bobro's mounts are even better....might be internet BS, might be some truth to it...in either event there probably aren't many people out there that out shoot their Larue/ADM/Bobro mount.

ADM works much better on rails that are slightly out of spec. ill use them for everything i need to mount in the future.

I use both LaRue and ADM. Both return to zero very well. The LaRue stuff is always smoother... like all the corners are radiused and smooth. ADMs are more blocky in places with sorta sharp corners.

I personally like LaRue's "arrogance" and respect the man greatly. I am no fanboi, but I like straight talkers and straight dealings.

That said, I don't think you can go wrong with either product. Pick the one that suits you better either by price or looks and feel good about the choice.
