Hornady will offer both of these highly demanded cartridges for 2010.

Hornady will offer both 7.62c39 and 5.45x39 cartridges for 2010.

Both the 7.62x39 and the 5.45x39 feature high-quality, lacquer-coated steel cases with non-corrosive berdan primers. Each cartridge is loaded with Hornady V-MAX bullets and carefully chosen propellants, and all loading is done at the Hornady factory. The 7.62x39 is stoked with a 123-grain V-Max with a muzzle velocity of 2350 fps, while the 5.45x39 is still in development and ballistics were not available at press time. It is reported to boasts a 60-grain V-Max bullet.

:lol:Hell, I'd be shooting the hell out of that.... if I had money and a weapon that chambered it.... I've never understood the whole lacquer phobia....

It caused a lot of problems in the old wolf ammo.

It caused a lot of problems in the old wolf ammo.

The lacquer did not cause the problems, it was the red sealant that gummed things up.

If it was the lacquer, I doubt that Honandy would be using it on this and their TAP practice ammo.

Ahh, I had misheard it was the laquer that was the problem. Learn something new every day. I figured Hornady just had a better design.

Nope they are using Russian lacquered cases

Onoez! The reds!

My local range had a guy who reloaded some ballistic tipped x39 in brass that was nice and destructive to many a watermelon. Ive never had a problem with Wolf x39. I cant say the same for Wolf 45 acp though.
