9mm SBR
7.5" chrome lined barrel w/ 1/2-28 threads and Phantom flash suppressor
Midwest Industries T7 rail
CMMG ramped bolt carrier
RRA 9mm buffer
Hahn top loading mag block
Metalform mags
It still needs some irons, and I plan on switching the light out for G2 LED (with a lumen upgrade kit) in a better mount. I had that light sitting around, so I slapped it on until I can get what I really want. I also want to get a single point sling for it. Probably one of the Magpul MS2's and ASAP sling mount.
The long term plan is to suppress it using an HK 3 lug adapter.

Holy crap Jay!!!!!!
That is nice!
Did you get a new TD stubby for it, or did you "borrow" it from another build? _________________ NRA Life Member, golfer and cow puncher. |

Borrowed it from the 11.5" 5.56 upper. I can only use one of the uppers at a time, and it's QD, so...

Neat little blaster! I'd be curious as to how a full-size VFG would feel relative to the stubby. _________________ Ty | info@midwestpx.com | 815.246.AR15 (2715)

I'm sure it would be fine, but I personally prefer the stubby grips. I don't have really big hands, which may have something to do with it.

Very nice looking, but I've always wondered one thing....doesn't anyone make dedicated 9mm lowers with a magwell that looks like it's made to accomodate 9mm mags?
A 9mm AR-9? would look very smooth with a small mag well that just fits the 9mm magazine.

I don't know... Even the dedicated 9mm lowers have a regular looking 5.56 magwell that is filled in to the size of a 9mm mag.

| DDLES out of Tucson and Lone Wolf (of Glock accessories fame) make lowers that are sized for 9mm mags. The Lone Wolf uses the Glock 33rd mags. They're still working the bugs out, but it should turn into a sweet design. |

One idea that I was kicking around yesterday for my long term plan was having my buddies at HE Guns cut, re-crown, and thread the barrel at 4.5-5" after I get a can to recess the can a couple inches inside the rail and shorten the overall length. I wouldn't bother with the 3 lug adapter if I went that route, and just spin the can off and on when I wanted, which I doubt would be very often.

IT RUNS!!!
I zeroed it, and put some rounds downrange. It ran like a top, zero malfunctions. I put a couple boxes of 115gr WWB, and an old box of 147gr Winchester Silvertip I had lying around, through it. I was curious how well it would run on HP's, and I was very pleased with the results.
I wasn't sure exactly what range to zero a 9mm SBR, but I went with 25 yards. I figured 25 yards was a nice range for anything designed for CQB.
Overall... I'm very satisfied with the results.

Glad to hear it runs so well. Ive been tossing the idea around as well but would rather wait until I could SBR it. Do you have any info on barrel performance in reference to length? _________________ Mike |
